Jelani Brown
Born in San Jose, California, Jelani Brown completed his Bachelor's Degree in Music Management at the University of the Pacific where he studied Violin under Anne Miller. Jelani is an artist with a passion for creativity, songwriting, and education. While attending the University of the Pacific, He was the featured artist for Pac Ave Records and released his debut EP “First Impression,” the school's first hip hop project. Since then he has opened for artists such as Kiana Lede, P-Lo, and The Ohio Players. His love for music and education has led him to work with brands like The O’Conner Method by Grammy Winning Violinist Mark O’Conner, Little Kids Rock, Stockton Harmony, Blackwing Foundation, and The CW.
Brown is no stranger to the stage having performed as the lead role in Othello at Modesto Community College and most recently played Sam in Gallo Center Repertory Company's production of Holes. His passion for education has taken him on a unique journey. From elementary to higher education, Brown has put on several Hip Hop workshops throughout the Central Valley and Bay Area. Outside the classroom, he works as a hip hop expert and director for a nonprofit soul orchestra, Stockton Soul.
